WHAT SHOULD TLC-LICENSED DRIVERS, VEHICLE OWNERS AND OPERATORS DO?
TLC-licensed drivers, vehicle owners and operators should go about their daily lives, but take certain precautions:
• IF YOU FEEL SICK, STAY HOME
Surface Tips:
• TLC-licensed drivers, vehicle owners and operators are encouraged to clean their vehicles at least daily.
• Standard cleaning and disinfection products are recommended (e.g. Clorox, Purell, Peroxide multi-purpose cleaner). Avoid touching surfaces often touched by passengers. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Use gloves if required to touch surfaces contaminated by body fluids.
• Practice routine cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces, including surfaces in the driver cockpit commonly touched by the operator.
• If a customer is visibly sick, please tell your dispatcher so that your vehicle can be pulled out of service to be disinfected. We are continuing to intensify our cleaning, disinfection and ventilation of facilities and vehicles.
Key Hygiene Tips:
• Limit close contact with others by maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet, when possible
• Avoid touching surfaces often touched by passengers. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
• Use gloves if required to touch surfaces contaminated by body fluids
• Practice routine cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces, including surfaces in the driver cockpit commonly touched by the operator. If a customer is visibly sick, please tell your dispatcher so that your vehicle can be more deeply cleaned
• Proper hand hygiene is an important infection control measure. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.
• While at work, you must wear a facial covering for social distancing purposes. N95 and KN95 masks can be used and reused for a maximum of 5 days. Surgical masks can also be used but must be discarded after daily/single use.
• A facial covering is considered adequate if it covers an individual’s nose and mouth and prevent the transmission of droplets onto a surface or another individual
• If you are eating or drinking during a break while at work, you do not have to wear your mask. However, you must maintain appropriate distance from other people.
• Ask a manager at your location for a mask, if needed.
